A Kashmiri seminarian in Qom said, “The majority of international media outlets are busy in spreading fake news, misinformation and panic through headlines about the Coronavirus in Iran.” RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Agha Sayyed Karar Hashimi, a Kashmiri seminarian in Qom, expressed concern over the exaggerated media reports about the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Iran and lashed out at the international media who are attempting to portray a negative view of Iran.
He added that there are about 49,000 seminary and university from 78 countries studying in Iran and most of them are in the holy city of Qom. “They familiar with ground situation, the effective strategies of the Iranian health department and the collective stand of the public against the international threat of the Coronavirus.”
Sayyed Hashimi emphasized, “The majority of international media outlets are busy in spreading fake news, misinformation and panic through headlines about the Coronavirus in Iran. There’s no doubt that the Coronavirus has claimed the lives of 19 people across the country and infected as many as 139 others, most of them in Qom, but in the last 74 hours, the situation has been taken under control and many victims have recovered.”
He said that international media is spreading lies to create a psychological gap between the people and the establishment with an aim to create regime change in Iran. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in this regard said earlier that “soft war or psychological war is one of the goals the enemy pursues in order to weaken the spiritual strongholds of a nation by targeting faith and turning the opportunities and strong points of a nation into threats and weak points.”
43 Countries around the world have reported a total of 81,265 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus which originated in Wuhan, China. There has been a death toll of 2,770 in China, followed by South Korea with 1261 cases, Japan with 863 cases, Italy with 374 cases, Iran with 139 cases and death toll of 19 people.
He added, “The international media is using the Coronavirus as part of soft war tactic against Iran and exaggerating statistics of deaths and other misinformation to declare the holy city of Qom as a centre of the Coronavirus by applying all of their abilities to propagate Iran as a global threat of Coronavirus to world. Iranians are satisfied and are taking precautionary measures and are united to defeat the evil designs of United States and Israel.”
Sayyed Hashimi noted, “I belong to Kashmir said that in no situation, will I ever leave the holy city of Qom, the Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, the Shrine of the eighth Imam, Ali al-Ridha and Iranian people alone. Let God gave all of us a chance to serve humanity in any place through the world we pray that God Almighty will grant us with martyrdom.”
