Afghanistan Vice President:
Afghan Vice-President Sarwar Danish warned that Saudi Arabia and certain other Arab states are supporting the promotion of Wahhabism in Afghanistan.

RNA - "A number of professors of Kabul University's religious college and other religious training centers which are among the most important training centers in Afghanistan have been busy with promoting extremism," Danish said on Saturday.

He added these people who were accused of recruiting students for suicide attacks and membership in the ISIL terrorist group were arrested by the security forces.

"These events confirm that the Arab states, specially Saudi Arabia, are promoting the thoughts and beliefs of Wahhabism in Afghanistan by recruiting the country's students and religious scholars in their country and Wahhabism centers in Pakistan," Danish said.

Saudi Arabia has been promoting Wahhabism in the world which is the root cause of Takfiri terrorism.

In relevant remarks in June 2018, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani blamed Wahhabism, mainly promoted by Saudi Arabia, for the formation of Takfiri terrorist groups that have stirred crisis in the regional states.

"Wahhabism was the ideological bed for Takfiri terrorism and the ISIL was created based on Wahhabism, a plot hatched by certain world powers and the role played by a number of ignorant and contending regional states," Shamkhani said in a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Viktor Makhmudov in Tehran.

He referred to the US attempts to misuse terrorism to its own benefits as well as regional concerns about the transfer of the ISIL terrorists to Afghanistan and Central Asia, and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its bright and successful experiences in fighting terrorism with other regional countries."
