RNA - Different popular forces and fighters of the resistance front in Yemen released video messages on social media to stress their companionship and support for al-Nujaba after the resistance movement was put on the US Treasury Department's list of sanctions.
In addition to video messages, the Yemeni people and popular forces trended the #All of Us Are Nujaba and #All of Us are Akram al-Ka'abi (the leader of Nujaba) to voice support for the movement.
They also stressed in their messages that the US pressures and sanctions a blessing in disguise as they show the US and global arrogance's fear from Nujaba and its influence in Iraq and the region.
The US has added al-Nujaba Movement and its leader Akram Abbas al-Ka'abi to its sanctions list, the State Department said.
"The Department of State has designated the Iranian proxy group Harakat al-Nujaba (HAN) and its leader, Akram 'Abbas al-Kabi, as Specially Designated Global Terrorists under Executive Order 13224," the State Department said in a statement earlier this month.
Harakat al-Nujaba is an Iraqi Shiite resistance group that helped the Iraqi government liberate territory captured by the ISIL. It has also deployed forces to Syria to help the Syrian army recapture territories from terrorist groups.
Spokesman of Iraq's al-Nujaba Movement Seyed Hashim al-Mousavi underlined earlier this month that designation of the resistance group as a terrorist group and seizure of its assets was meant to serve psychological operation purposes.
"We do not have any economic and financial interests to be sanctioned by the US, and al-Nujaba's position towards the US is stable and unchangeable," al-Mousavi said.
He added that the US lacked legitimacy to accuse others with terrorism. "But it would be wrong for the US to imagine that it could impose its will on nations."
Al-Mousavi lashed out at Washington for its double-standard approach, saying that the US was a country which supported the killers of a journalist (Jamal Khashoggi) in a diplomatic mission.
