The Promotional Discourse on the Theories of Social Justice

RNA - The scientific session on the theories of social justice was held in Qom by the expert board on the Justice and the Islamic Model of Development, in the Centre of Interdisciplinary Studies of the Institute and the experts of this field participated in this session.

The scientific-promotional discourse on “the theories of Social Justice” was held in Qom by the specialized board on the Justice and the Islamic Model of Development, in the Centre of Interdisciplinary Studies of the Institute and some experts of this field participated in the session.

Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Hadi Arabi, as the presenter of the discussion, saying that “justice has long been a concern of the humanity”, opened the session and then stated, “Despite their multiple differences, different cultures have long sought to achieve justice. However the questions that have always been raised is that what is justice? And how is its nature? Such issues are too complex to be easily resolved”.

He added, “Generally, justice deals with social-economic equality, and specifically, it applies to the distribution of the benefits and assignment of the responsibilities. Social justice encompasses the economic justice, but they are not the same. Political powers and freedoms may be distributed unjustly, however it is not a deficit related to the economic justice, unless the political injustice stems from the political inequality”.  

Qom University pointed out, “similar to every philosophical issue, there are multiple answers available to this question and each group answers this in accordance with its own ideology”.

Hujjat al-Islam Naser Jahanian and Sayed Kazim Sayyed Baqeri were the next speakers and reviewed and assessed the presented materials by Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Hadi Arabi.
