RNA - "When Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution says there is no possibility for war, his words are backed up by much evidence; there are different reasons why there will be no war and why military confrontation is impossible. The US is not after war either and if it speaks of war, it bluffs," General Gheibparvar told reporters in Tehran on Wednesday.
He also blasted the European states for interfering in Iran's internal affairs by speaking about the country's defense and missile program, and said, "There is no need for Europe to give consultations to us on the country's defense issues because our path is fully clear and they had better retreat their words and stance."
According to Fars News Agancy, the general reminded Iran's independent policies, stressing that Iran is not ruled by the foreign governments.
His remarks came after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei reiterated his last month remarks that the chances of a war breaking out against Iran are zero, yet he urged the country's armed forces to enhance their deterrence power.
"Political calculations show that there is no chance for a military war, yet the armed forces are needed to boost their equipment and human capabilities vigilantly and through an efficient and agile management," Ayatollah Khamenei said at a meeting with senior commanders and officials of the Air Defense Base of the Islamic Republic of Iran's army here in Tehran on Sunday.
The Iranian leader termed the Army's Air Defense Base a very sensitive section of the Iranian Armed Forces that stands at the forefront of confrontation against enemy, and laid emphasis on the need for the enhancement of the capabilities and preparedness of the Air Defense Base.
