RNA – Emil Constantinescu, a Romanian politician and former president of the eastern European nation and Petroniu Florea, the bishop of Sălaj County and a delegation of professors visit the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom where they met with experts from the Holy Shrine’s International Affairs bureau and participated in a tour of the Holy Shrine and learned about its history.
The Romanian Orthodox Christians also learned that the pilgrims to the shrine of his blessed lady also offer their greetings to Jesus Christ.
The delegation of religious and political officials from Romania also visited the Holy Shrine’s Museum and participated in various other programs at the Shrine.
Romania is the most religious country in the European Union and an overwhelming majority of the country's citizens are Christian, mostly Romanian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Romanian Greek-Catholic.
The country also has a small but historically significant Muslim minority, concentrated in Dobrogea, who are mostly of Crimean Tatar and Turkish ethnicity and number around 64,000 people.
