Spiritual guide of Vienna Islamic Centre:
Rasa– “The insults in the last couple of years have caused a tendency towards Islamism in Europe and more harmony in the Islamic world for the Muslims.”
Rasa News Agency Reports– Sheikh Muntazari, who is the leading Friday prayer and the spiritual guide for Imam Ali Islamic Center in Vienna, in an interview with Rasa News Agency said: “For the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of the holy Prophet we are organizing a conference in Islamic Centre of Vienna in the German language with the theme of “The Guiding Light” on Sunday 27th of January 2013.”
The leading Friday Prayer of Imam Ali Islamic Centre in addition to saying the goal of the conference which is to introduce the great personality of the holy Prophet of Islam and to confront Islamophobia in Europe said: “The great lecturers invited in this conference are the president of Islamic Society of Austria, President of Ahlul Bayt Assembly in Austria and Father Erwin Neumann. “
His eminence Sheikh Muntazari in regards to the Islamophobia occurring in Europe said: “Islamophobia and insults to the holy Prophet have increased in the last couple of years in Europe and we are trying to confront this Islamophobia by organizing conferences to introduce Islam to the west and show that respect for all divine prophets is a common belief taught by all religions.”
Sheikh Muntazari which is the spiritual guide of Imam Ali Islamic Centre in his interview added that the Islamic Centre in Vienna along with organizing this conference for the birthday of the holy Prophet are going to be having a program during the night to celebrate this great birthday of the Prophet so the Muslims in Vienna can attend and enjoy the night.
Imam Ali Islamic Centre has been organizing classes into two semesters every year to introduce the Prophet of Islam and Islamic Sciences to the people of Europe. They were also successful in organizing 6 short term courses in Islamic Sciences with highly qualified teachers from the holy city of Qom for the youth and kids.
Sheikh Muntazari response to the question of “with the insults which have happened to the holy Prophet in the west, what effects has it had on the Muslims and Non Muslims in Europe” answered: “The insults in the last couple of years have caused more people to be interested in Islam and within the Islamic world it is has caused more harmony between Muslims, because in the different programs held by the Islamic Centre in Vienna we have had a 40% increase in attendees and in the rally for the Quds day we have had a 50% increase.”
Sheikh Muntazari in confirming the insults towards the holy prophet have caused people tendency towards Islam to become more expressed: “One of the way we can see the tendency of people becoming more towards Islam is by seeing how many people have been converting to Islam. In the year 2009 19 people accepted Islam in the Islamic Centre of Imam Ali, year 2010 29 people accepted Islam and in 2011 35 people came to the Centre to convert towards Islam.”
Sheikh Muntazari in regards to preachers who travel to the west to preach Islam mentioned: “Preachers must be aware in matters of religion in precise Islamic theology and jurisprudence and must have enough information regarding the area they want to preach.”
