Rasa News Agency reports - Hujjat al-Islam Abdol-Hossein Moezi, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in the United Kingdom and the president of the Islamic Centre of England, spoke of the Hajj pilgrimage in an interview with Rasa News Agency.

Every year in the United Kingdom, various groups and caravans embark on a pilgrimage to the land of revelation (Makkah) and some of them attend a gathering at the Islamic Centre of England before they embark where the philosophy of Hajj and the method of performing it are explained to them.

“There are many important issues that are explained, but the most important issues are the importance of the actions of the pilgrims as they are followers of the Ahlul-Bayt (A), they need to be very careful so that their actions do not become an excuse in the hands of the extremists [Takfiris],” he emphasized.

“The most important message of Hajj is that Muslims must unite against the enemies of Islam,” Hujjat al-Islam Moezi added.

“Hajj is also important because of its impact on the individual, social, and political lives of Muslims as it is the pillar of Islam and it is important to teach its values at our gatherings all year long,” he explained.

“The history of Islam was shaped in the land of Hejaz and the graves of the Prophet (S) and some of the Infallible Imams (A) are located in the Jannat al-Baqi’ cemetery in Madinah, and also a spiritual attraction exists there,” he stated.

“Muslims in Britain have been a minority in the country and perhaps they have felt overwhelmed by the various attacks against Islam, but by attending the Hajj meeting a sea of Muslims from different countries with a variety of colours, languages and cultures they feel revitalized and when they return, they become more aware of their behaviour as Muslims and how they should act with other Muslims,” he said.
