RNA - "I think that when we hear the name of Mr. Jubeir, there is no need for answer (reaction). He had given up his habit for a while but he is at it again. He has made some irrelevant remarks about Iran. The incidents which happened in Saudi Arabia had forced him to keep mum (for a while). Attempts to project the blame on others will not resolve the problems in Saudi Arabia and I think that the world public opinion will judge about it," Qassemi told reporters in a press conference in Tehran on Monday.
His remarks came after Jubeir, whose country has formed a coalition against its poor Arab neighbor since 2015, in his recent claims had blamed Iran for continued war in Yemen.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Qassemi also referred to London’s decision to blacklist the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah, stressing that Hezbollah is an important part of Lebanon and its ruling system, parliament and forces who have resisted against the Takfiri terrorism.
He noted that by resistance against terrorist groups, Hezbollah has even helped Europe, saying that blacklisting the resistance group is a "strategic mistake".
The Iranian foreign ministry had also on Saturday strongly deplored the British government's move to ban the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance group as a terrorist organization, describing it as an irresponsible and incorrect move.
"This measure by Britain means deliberately ignoring a large number of Lebanese people and Hezbollah's legitimacy and legal position in the administration and political structure in Lebanon. We advise the British government to study the scale of Hezbollah's votes in the recent parliamentary elections and other electoral activities," Qassemi said.
He described Hezbollah as one of the main pivots of the fight against terrorism, specially the ISIL, in the region, stressing that certainly the British government's wrong measure cannot dim this role and position.
Qassemi underscored that Iran considered Hezbollah as a legitimate and legal force helping the political stability and security of Lebanon, saying that Britain's "irresponsible and incorrect" measure would not help establish stability and security in the Arab country.
Britain's measure was earlier condemned by Hezbollah too.
Hezbollah condemned the British government’s decision to list it as a terrorist organization, saying the move showed “servile obedience” to the United States.
It said in a statement it was a “resistance movement against Israeli occupation” and described the British move as an “insult to the feelings, sympathies and will of the Lebanese people that consider Hezbollah a major political and popular force”.
“Hezbollah sees in this decision servile obedience to the US administration, revealing that the British government is but a mere a follower in service of its American master,” the statement added.
