Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Qolamhossein Dehqani lashed out at the 3 Arab neighbors of Tehran which supported US’ unilateral sanctions against his country, reminding that Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was established to enhance unity among Islamic countries.

RNA - “Countries which support US sanctions against the Iranian nation violate the spirit of unity among Muslims,” Dehqani said addressing the 46th session of the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), in Abu Dhabi city of the UAE on Saturday.

He was referring to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain which issued statements after of Washington’s both withdrawal from the multilateral nuclear agreement of 2015 and reinstatement of unilateral sanctions against Iran, voicing welcome and support for White House’s hostile policy against Tehran.

Elsewhere, he said that the issue of Palestine should remain top on the agenda of OIC, adding, “we do not allow any new developments in the Islamic world to divert attention from addressing the most important and oldest issue we are facing, namely, Palestine.”

Saying that Washington’s decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem is part of a plot dubbed as “Deal of the Century”, the Iranian official expressed worry over some OIC members’ indifference towards the Palestinian nation’s rights.

According to Fars News Agancy, Dehqani went on to say that Iran opposes any decision in OIC which would recognize the Israeli regime as a country.

Also on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denounced the Emirati foreign minister’s unprofessional move in issuing a not- approved statement as a the final communique of the OIC’s CFM, saying that such measures are unwise and primitive acts aimed at imposing malevolent intentions on the meeting.
