The Israeli occupation army on Saturday night launched two aerial attacks on Central and Southern Gaza, with no reported casualties.

RNA - Local sources told a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that an Israeli drone bombed a resistance observation point, East of al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, causing damage to the site, Palinfo reported.

Spokesman for the Israeli Army Avichay Adraee claimed a military aircraft targeted a site belonging to Hamas in Gaza in response to the launch of a cluster of balloons carrying an explosive device towards an Israeli border area.

Later, a PIC reporter announced that a drone bombed a post belonging to the field control force in Rafah, South of Gaza.

Nearly 270 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces ever since anti-occupation rallies began in the Gaza Strip in late March 2018. More than 27,000 Palestinians have also sustained injuries.

The Gaza clashes reached their peak in mid-May last year, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.

The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli blockade since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standard of living as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty.

Israel carries out regular attacks on Palestinians in Gaza under the pretext of hitting Hamas targets. It has also launched several wars on the enclave, the last of which began in early July 2014 and ended in late August the same year. The Israeli military aggression killed nearly 2,200 Palestinians and injured over 11,100 others.
