RNA – Father Sonmar Ghanim, an advisor and ambassador of the Holy See (the Vatican) to the Eastern Countries, along with a group of Christians, made a pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali in the Iraqi city of Najaf.
Speaking to the Media Centre of the Holy Shrine, the Vatican adviser said, “It is my great honour to visit the paragon of humanity and justice. I do commend and appreciate the warm hospitality of the officials of the Holy Shrine.”
Father Ghanim, a Chaldean Catholic priest, added, “I am an Iraqi from Mosul but now I live in Rome and am working as the ambassador of Pope Francis to eastern countries.”
The staff of the Media Centre of the Holy Shrine discussed the history and archeological features of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali with Father Ghanim and his entourage and told them about the reconstruction and expansion of the Holy Shrine.
