RNA - "Today, Iran is able to block the US on the ground, on the sea and in the air. Today, the US is declining politically and militarily," General Salami said on Sunday, addressing the Iranian people who had gathered in a square in Eastern Tehran to commemorate the anniversary of the massive pro-government rallies that put an end to the post-election unrests in 2009.
He referred to the US decision to withdraw its forces from Syria without any achievements, warning that Washington still focuses on enmity towards the Iranian nation despite these failures.
"But they should rest assured that the Iranian nation will defeat them this time again," General Salami said, stressing the ineffectiveness of the US sanctions against Iran.
In relevant remarks last Thursday, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that Tehran was now so powerful that Washington did not dare to mention the military option against the country anymore, which demonstrates Iran’s rise in the face of the US’ decline.
Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, speaking at a ceremony in Tehran on Thursday, said Iran was no more facing a security threat in the light of its rising power.
“We have distanced ourselves from the security threat since many years ago and no superpower even dreams of aggression” against Iran while all of them “are extremely afraid of a conflict with Iran and its consequences,” the IRGC’s top commander said.
“When we compare the US power now with 40 years ago, we see that as put by the Leader (of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) America is on the decline and today, they themselves confess to their weakness in the face of Iran. Iran is now so powerful that they do not dare mention the military option against Iran anymore,” the IRGC chief commander added.
