RNA - The resolution touched on the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, Australia's decision to recognize West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the intention of the elected President of Brazil to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, WAFA reported.
Malki stressed that Palestine and in coordination with the Arab League's General Secretariat and Arab countries will follow up on what he described as "this important achievement" by the Arab League.
The permanent representatives of the Arab League met in Cairo on Tuesday in an emergency session at the request of Palestine to discuss the Israeli escalation as well as recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
The Arab League called on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibility in preserving world security and peace and pressure Israel, the Occupying Power, to stop its attacks and incitement against the Palestinian people.
It also decided to send letters to Brazil an Australia to urge them to abide by international law and United Nations resolutions on the legal status of Jerusalem.
It decided to let the ambassadors of Brazil and Australia in the Member States of the Arab position against any act that violates the legal and historic status of Jerusalem, stressing that the Member States would take the necessary political, diplomatic and economic measures toward this illegal move.
