RNA - Top Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi made the remarks remarks in Jask Port, Hormozgan province, on Tuesday, adding that regional countries, especially the Resistance Axis should monitor the region’s developments with vigilance.

Saudi Arabia and some other Persian Gulf countries have bought 10 times more weapons than Iran in the past 10 years, but this will not lead to victory in war, he said, adding, “if that was the case, Saudi Arabia should have gained victory in Yemen. But during the last 45 months, they have gained the least possible political and military achievements.”

Elsewhere, touching upon the geopolitical importance of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, Safavi speculated that countries such as India, China and Russia will increase their presence in this region, adding that the first two will do this to satisfy their need for oil and gas and the latter to counter the United States.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, with 2,200 km of coastline in the Sea of Oman and the Persian Gulf, and as a stable and powerful state, needs to develop its relations with these countries on the basis of national interests and security, Safavi added.

He also went on to say that Iran should secure its permanent membership in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) through negotiating with China and Russia, otherwise, it should pull out from the bloc.

On November 21, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned that Israel has hatched plots to create political tensions in the region, calling on Tehran, Islamabad and Ankara to use capacities to resolve the regional problems

"The Zionist regime intends to create political crisis in the region and we should talk with the regional states and don’t allow them to become an instrument in the hands of the US and don’t allow their decisions to produce benefit for Israel and the US and therefore, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey's weight should be used to resolve the regional conditions," Larijani said in a meeting with Chairman of Pakistani Senate’s Committee on Defense Mushahid Hussain on the sidelines of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly conference in Istanbul on Wednesday.

Touching on the same concern a week later, Larijani said that the "deal of the century" is an American plot to make Israel a dominant force in the Middle East, reassuring that Iran and other Islamic countries will stand against the plot and thwart it.

“The so-called ‘deal of the century’ is an Israeli-American plot,” Larijani said, reassuring that Iran is determined to foil it.

“We will stand against the Israeli regime and won’t let the deal take place in this region,” he went on to say.

“They have called it the ‘deal of the century’ to achieve a number of major goals. Their first goal is to increase the power of Israel in the region. … The other goal is to end the story of Palestine by telling Palestinian refugees to stay in other countries and not to return to their homeland,” Larijani said.

According to Fars News Agancy,  he further noted that the United States has a serious plan to plunder the region’s oil resources and accuses Iran of misbehavior in order to only justify their presence in the Middle East and encourage regional countries to buy their weapons.

“They target Iran because it is the only country that has stood against Israel and America and has maintained its position for 40 years,” he said.

Larijani warned certain countries in the region against supporting the so-called ‘deal of the century’ and hosting Israeli officials, saying that such moves won’t have any benefit for them.

He said Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and some other countries admit they made a mistake when they supported former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in his eight-war war against Iran. “We condoned that mistake and did not retaliate, but their second mistake – supporting Israel – wouldn’t remain without retaliation.”

Iran won’t let countries that are siding with the US and serving the Israeli regime by supporting the ‘deal of the century’ achieve anything, he warned.
