RNA - Israeli forces detained a Palestinian journalist after breaking into his house in Deir Jarir village, northeast of Ramallah, WAFA reported.

They also detained another Palestinian after ransacking his house in Kafr Nimeh village, northwest of Ramallah.

A similar military raid was reported in Nilin town, west of Ramallah, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.

A fifth Palestinian was detained during a similar military raid in Beit Rima village, northwest of Ramallah.

The detainee is reportedly a former prisoner who was released five days ago after spending 12 months behind Israeli bars.

PPS added that four more Palestinians were rounded up from the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh.

Meanwhile, Israeli military police violently ransacked many homes and detained five former prisoners in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Issawiya.

During the home-to-home raids, military police attacked Palestinians, examined their ID cards and caused damage to their furniture and property.

Police detained two other former prisoners in the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Wadi al-Joz and Silwan.

In Bethlehem district, Israeli armored military vehicles stormed Tuqu' town, east of Bethlehem, where soldiers detained two Palestinian minors, both aged 12.

A former prisoner was reportedly detained during a predawn raid that triggered confrontations in Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

A similar overnight raid was reported in al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem, where a Palestinian was detained.

The detainee was identified as Said Mahmoud al-Araj, 36, brother of  Basel al-Araj, who was killed during an exchange of fire with Israeli forces on March 6, 2017.

PPS added that a fifth Palestinian was rounded up from the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem.

In the meantime, Israeli forces raided Izbat al-Jarad, east of Tulkarem, detaining two Palestinians, including a journalist identified as Sameh Manasra.

Two others, including a former prisoner, were reportedly detained from the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

Israeli forces frequently conduct large-scale overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

Clashes often erupt between Palestinian youth who attempt to block soldiers’ passage, throwing stones and empty bottles and are met with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters, often resulting in serious, sometimes fatal, injuries.

According to Palestinian figures, some 6,500 Palestinians continue to languish in Israeli detention facilities, including scores of women and hundreds of minors.
