RNA - Israeli police detained at least 32 Palestinians, including 20 members of Fatah movement and former prisoners, after ransacking their homes across East Jerusalem, WAFA reported.
Troops reportedly raided the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Jabal al-Mukkabir, al-Issawiya, At-Tour, Wadi al-Jouz, Silwan, Beit Hanina and Shufat refugee camp, carrying out extensive and violent searches of Palestinian houses and interrogating owners.
The large-scale detention raids came less than one day after Jerusalemite Palestinians staged a rally protesting the detention of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Gheith.
Gheith was reportedly detained during a predawn military raid into his home in Silwan early Sunday morning and his detention was extended until Thursday November 29th for being involved in the arrest and investigation of a Palestinian merchant who sold lands to Israeli settlers.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided Yatta town, south of Hebron, detaining four Palestinians, including a 15-year-old minor.
They also conducted a similar raid into Ash-Shuyukh town, northeast of Hebron, detaining a Palestinian.
A similar raid was reportedly carried out in Surif town, northwest of Hebron, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
Another was detained after being stopped at al-Jab'aa checkpoint, north of Surif.
This came as Israeli troops detained a 15-year-old Palestinian child from Hebron city purportedly for hurling stones toward soldiers at Abu al-Rish checkpoint, west of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
In Ramallah and al-Bireh district, soldiers raided Beit Liqya town, southwest of Ramallah, detaining a Palestinian man together with his daughter and son.
Two other Palestinians, including a journalist, was rounded up from Beitunia town, west of Ramallah.
Two more others were detained from Ramallah district, including one during a raid into al-Mazra'a al-Qibliya, northwest of Ramallah.
In the meantime, two Palestinians were detained during separate raids into Beit Fajjar and Aida refugee camp, south and north of Bethlehem.
Israeli forces frequently conduct large-scale overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
Clashes often erupt between Palestinian youth who attempt to block soldiers’ passage, throwing stones and empty bottles and are met with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters, often resulting in serious, sometimes fatal, injuries.
According to Palestinian figures, some 6,500 Palestinians continue to languish in Israeli detention facilities, including scores of women and hundreds of minors.
