Iranians told US by occupying the Embassy:
Rasa - The occupation of the U.S. embassy in Tehran served to tell the U.S. government that the people of Iran are beholden to no outside influence, and that they would not tolerate any further interference in their internal affairs.

RNA - In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Robert Fantina activist and journalist, working for peace and social justice, explored the dimensions of the occupation of the U.S. embassy in late 1979 in Tehran.

"The 1979 revolution was unique in modern history for two reasons: 1) it was a genuine peoples’ movement, and 2) it thwarted the will of the strongest empire in the world, the United States." Fantina stated.

"With the overthrow of the brutal, repressive, U.S. puppet, the Shah of Iran, the people of Iran were finally, after several decades, able to determine their own method of government" the American author who lived in Canada told Rasa.

"The occupation of the U.S. embassy in late 1979 served to tell the U.S. government that the people of Iran are beholden to no outside influence, and that they would not tolerate any further interference in their internal affairs. Of course, this didn’t stop the U.S. from trying", Fantina expressed and said, "Even now, nearly forty years later, the U.S. is reapplying sanctions against Iran, despite not only the opposition from nearly the entire global community, but in violation of an agreement signed by the U.S. Yet Iran continues to prosper. Certainly, conditions would be more favorable if there was more international trade, but despite the U.S. crippling such trade, the people of Iran support their government".
