Rasa - Spokesman of Iraq's al-Nujaba popular movement Sayed Hashem al-Moussavi warned against the new US plots for Iraqi government, and said that Washington is seeking revenge by helping the ISIL to enter Iraq through neighboring Syria.

RNA - "The main reason for Washington's revenge from Iraq is that the new Iraqi government has not been formed according to the US administration's plans," the Arabic-language al-Nour radio quoted al-Moussavi as saying.

He noted that the US troops are trying to open several safe passages for the ISIL at common borders of Syria and Iraq to help the terrorist group penetrate into Iraq.

Al-Moussavi, meantime, reiterated that the Hashd al-Shaabi popular movement will firmly resist against the US plots, and said, "The new Iraqi government is planning to take new decisions" to put an end to the illegal presence of the US troops in Iraq.

He, however, warned that lax border control will pave the way for the return of the ISIL to Iraq.

In a relevant development in late August, Iraqi media reported that a regional lobby had been pressuring the former Iraqi government to weaken Hashd al-Shaabi (popular forces) and pave the ground for its dissolution.

Informed sources were quoted as saying by the Arabic-language al-Qad Press that a US, Saudi, UAE and Turkish lobby was pressuring the government of former Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to dissolve Hashd al-Shaabi and other resistance groups in Iraq.

They added that the lobby had targeted Badr Organization, Kata'eb al-Hezbollah, Asa'eb al-Haq and al-Nujaba group for their assistance to the Syrian government against the terrorist groups.

This is while al-Abadi had several times opposed attempts to weaken Hashd al-Shaabi, warning that such a move would lead to the rise of the terrorist groups in Iraq again.

In relevant remarks in late October, a senior member of al-Nasr coalition (led by Haider al-Abadi) said that Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi will not tolerate the deployment of US forces in Iraq.

"Adel Abdul Mahdi is determined to expel the foreign military men, specially the Americans, from Iraq," Ali Al-Sonaid said.

He said that the Iraqi prime minister will be committed to security agreements with all countries based on Iraq's needs and security conditions.

Al-Sonaid said that protection of Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity, opposition to the presence of foreign forces and assignment of a timetable to expel them are among Abdul Mahdi's priorities.
