RNA - "The recent report reflects the double-standard policy of the UN," Hassaninejad said on Tuesday, addressing the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly.

Hassaninejad, meantime, protested the United Nations' double-standard policy towards human rights issue, and criticized the lack of focus and attention to the economic and social sanctions against the people of Iran.

Hassaninejad's remarks came in reaction to UN secretary-general's report on human rights in Iran, and said, "It once again revealed the inaccuracy and political nature of human rights processes in the United Nations."

He reiterated that the presentation of four similar reports in one year on the situation of human rights in Iran reflects only the selective approaches and double-standard policy of the organization; an approach that most of all undermines the credibility and integrity of UN human rights processes.

On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres released a report on the human rights situation in Iran.

"No country can claim that it is perfect regarding the human rights situation, and Iran is no exception, while in Iran it is possible to amend laws and regulations to the point where it is not contrary to the social norms," the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly said on Tuesday.
