Rasa - The founder of the Virgin Group, Richard Branson, announced that he is suspending his billion dollar project in Saudi Arabia.
RNA - Citing the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Branson made the announcement on Thursday after the US Senate called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this situation, the AMN reported.
“What has reportedly happened in Turkey around the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, if proved true, would clearly change the ability of any of us in the West to do business with the Saudi Government,” Branson stated.
“We have asked for more information from the authorities in Saudi and to clarify their position in relation to Khashoggi,” he added.
Last week, Jamal Khashoggi mysteriously disappeared after attending a meeting at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.
