RNA - Humiliation of a country that claims to be the biggest power in the region (Saudi Arabia) by the US and the acceptance of this amount of humiliation by this country is surprising, Amoli Larijani said, addressing the judiciary officials in Tehran on Wednesday.
He referred to the US sanctions and pressures on Tehran, and said the enemy cannot treat the Iranian people it a way that it humiliates some wealthy regional countries.
His remarks came days after Trump said he had warned Saudi Arabia's King Salman he would not last in power "for two weeks" without the US military support.
"We protect Saudi Arabia. Would you say they're rich. And I love the King, King Salman. But I said 'King — we're protecting you — you might not be there for two weeks without us — you have to pay for your military,'" Trump said to cheers at a rally in Southaven, Mississippi.
According to Fars News Agancy, the humiliating remarks came a few days after Trump called on Riyadh to increase its military spending, with an eye on more weapons sales to the "rich" kingdom.
In reaction last Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif blasted Trump for meddling in the internal affairs of other countries and humiliating the regional states, and called for setting up a regional alliance against Washington.
“President Trump repeatedly humiliates the Saudis by saying they can't last 2 weeks without his support; this is the recompense for the delusion that one's security can be outsourced,” Zarif wrote on his Twitter account.
The Iranian foreign minister declared that Iran is prepared to cooperate with Saudi Arabia in order to build a strong region together and put an end to the US humiliation of regional countries.
"We again extend our hand to our neighbors: let's build a strong region, and stop this conceit," he added.
