RNA - "The conditions that the US, Britain, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Staffan de Mistura, the UN special envoy for Syria, have set for partnership in the reconstruction of Syria are not realistic, specially at a time when the Syrian government has regained control of over 85% of the country (from the terrorists)," Atwan wrote on Sunday.

He added that these countries' conditions for the Syrian government to cut relations with Tehran is faulty because the Syrian government had rejected it before the escalation of the crisis and it surely doesn't accept the same condition after 7 years of war and victory over terrorists with the help of Iran and Hezbollah.

The seven states, except Egypt, have played a role in the destruction of Syria and support for the terrorist groups and therefore, they should reconstruct the country without any preconditions, Atwan concluded.

According to Fars News Agancy, the US on Friday announced it was cutting about $230 million in stabilization money to Northeast Syria and said future global reconstruction funds for the country will depend on a UN-led peace process.

Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump announced he wanted to withdraw from the war-ravaged country. It was reported in late March that he froze more than $200 million in recovery funds to Syria.

Earlier this month, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia said it estimated the cost of destruction in the country to be $330 billion, with approximately $120 billion in material damage.
