Rasa - The administration of US President Donald Trump is taking the Israeli side in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, says an activist.

RNA - Gilad Atzmon, an Israeli-born British  novelist, political activist and writer, said that they “expected the Trump administration to stop the funding” of Palestinian relief organizations.

Trump has decided to cancel all US funding to Palestinian refugees.

He said Trump’s decision to cut funds to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) shows the current administration’s submissiveness towards the Israeli regime.

“America is operating as an Israeli colony.”

Atzmon added the Jewish lobby -- known as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) -- wields huge influence over Trump and his administration.

“US foreign policy is dominated by the Jewish lobby, by AIPAC.”

AIPAC dictates pro-Israel policies to the US government.

Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, who is a known pro-Israel lobbyist, has been making efforts to put Palestinians under pressure to surrender their inalienable rights .

Atzmon said Kushner has had a huge impact on the Trump administration’s exertion of increased pressure on the Palestinians.

“We know about the dominance of Kushner in the current administration,” Atzmon noted.

Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Atzmon argued, Trump’s message to the world is clear. He believe in resolving it through conflict and war.

“This is a clear message to the Palestinian people and to peace-lovers around the world.  America is not pursuing peace. The current administration is taking the Israeli side in a conflict.”
