RNA - "The US should bring to a halt its support for the terrorist groups," Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian.
The senior advisor underlined that terrorists will have no place in the future of the region.
Amir Abdollahian pointed to the shared views of the two countries on many important regional and international issues, and said the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia can make use of their available potentials to withstand the sanctions regime and non-constructive behavior of the United States.
In a relevant development earlier in August, senior Iranian and Russian officials in a meeting in Moscow discussed and underlined broadening of mutual cooperation in fighting terrorist and extremist groups.
During the meeting in Russian capital, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gholamhossein Dehqani and his Russian counterpart Oleg Vladimirovich stressed enhancing bilateral relations in fighting terrorist groups, specially the ISIL.
The two sides, meantime, discussed the latest terrorism threats in the Middle East and Afghanistan through sharing their experiences in fighting the phenomenon.
