RNA - Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement on Twitter on Wednesday that Israeli crimes and aggressions on the Palestinian people should not be met with silence, adding that Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza will spare no effort to protect Palestinian citizens and respond to any Israeli aggression, Middle East News reported.

Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, said in a statement that the latest Israeli crime committed in Gaza will not go unpunished, adding that they are considering all options to respond to the crime.

In a statement released on Thursday, Hamas’ military wing, Ezzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, said in a statementit had ordered its divisions “to raise the alertness to the maximum degree”, adding that “Israel will pay in blood for its latest crimes".

Three resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades were killed and another one was injured when the Israeli army launched an artillery attack on their observation post East of Gaza city.

Tensions have been running high near the Gaza fence since March 30, which marked the start of a series of rallies, dubbed “The Great March of Return”, demanding the right to return for those driven out of their homeland.

The Gaza clashes reached their peak on May 14, the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Nakba Day (the Day of Catastrophe), which coincided this year with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem al-Quds.
