Mr. Abolfazl Hasanbeygi:
Rasa – A member of Iran’s National Security Commission stressed that counteracting Iran’s prohibition of oil supplies would lead to the closing of the Strait of Hormuz. This move would lead to nothing but bankruptcy and economic and financial turmoil for Europe and the United States.

RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Mr. Abolfazl Hasanbeygi, a member of the National Security Commission of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, expressed his thankfulness over achieving national a consensus against the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the United States in regards to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said, “Based on the duties that the Supreme Leader of the Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] established as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces over all groups and forces, naturally, officials must establish a coordinated policy to ensure national interests, national unity, national security and the protection of territorial integrity.”

He added, “I believe that our hand is open to the JCPOA and I’m certain that President Trump will be defeated in this new campaign that he has begun and that the nation of Iran will succeed the disgrace of these cases remain for those who think that the United States is the captain of the world and that obeisance to the United States is in the best interests of the country.”

Arguing that during the past forty years that the people of Iran acted on the orders of Imam Khomeyni and Imam Khamenei, he said, “Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is at the peak of its authority and its security has been consolidated, which is a sign of the acceptance of wilayah [guardianship] and the insight of the people.”

Mr. Hasanbeygi continued, “The Islamic Republic has always acted in such a way that the countries of the region have taken it as their role model. In pursuit of security in the region, the Islamic Republic won successive victories, especially against Daesh, and due to divine grace, Daesh was destroyed by the forces of the Iranian Resistance and its neighbours and in this means just as in the past, the Americans made a mistake again.”

In regard to recent issues, he said, “Some of the world’s great powers, including China, Russia and some European countries, each have their own particular conditions in relation to the United States, but today the status of the Islamic Republic at the regional and international levels shines so much that these powers have always looked at Iran’s satisfaction alongside theirs. For this reason, the Europeans are under severe pressure from the United States and, on the other hand, they have found that if they want to back Iran, they will face a lot of disadvantages.”

Stating that the Islamic Republic has the appropriate tools in various means, he said, “In the context of national unity, the Iranian people are always firmly resisting the hostile policies of the United States. In regard to the national resources, such as in the energy and food sectors, the Islamic Republic has also become fully self-sufficient. For this reason, the Americans know that if they want to increase pressure on Iran, the Islamic republic will also resist via the Strait of Hormuz.

Mr. Hasanbeygi said, “The concept of counteraction to Iran is that Europeans are forced to buy oil at $300 or $400 a barrel. In the past when oil reached $350 a barrel, over the course of less than three years of bankruptcy and economic disruption, all of Europe has been effected. Since then, the debt of the American people has grown much higher every day such that today, the debt held by the Americans is higher than their income. Today, the Americans are over $20 trillion in debt.”

Referring to the words of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution which explicitly stated that if the United States withdraws from the JCPOA, the P4+1 countries must guarantee the interests of the agreement, he said, “The United Kingdom, Germany and France must ensure the interests of the JCPOA. At one stage, these countries provided packages which didn’t answer the questions and demands of the Islamic Republic. The negotiations are still ongoing and must continue, because we have not yet reached our red line, in which case we will take steps until the Americans see a personal blow that they will never forget.”
