Rasa - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad underlined the importance of strategic relations with Iran, adding that these ties would benefit both countries and the entire region.

RNA - President Assad made the remarks in a meeting with Senior Assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari and the accompanying delegation in Damascus on Sunday.

 

During the meeting, the two officials agreed to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries as an important stabilizing factor in the region.

 

Ansari, for his part, congratulated the Syrian people and leadership on the recent achievements of the Syrian army in Dara'a province.

 

The Syrian army continued to storm terrorists' strongholds in Northwestern Dara'a on Sunday, taking control over one more key region.

 

According to Fars News Agancy, the army units imposed control over the town of Zalin in Northwestern Dara'a, heading towards Tal Zamlin.

 

In the meantime, terrorists in the town of Jasem in Northern Dara'a started surrendering their heavy weapons to the army men.

 

Local sources, meanwhile, reported that the army has managed to impose control over 85 percent of lands in Dara'a after its advances against the terrorists in the last two days.

 

The Syrian army has liberated nearly 90% of lands in Dara'a province, including Dara'a city.
