RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Mr. Abolfazl Hasanbeygi, a member of the National Security Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] in regard the cost of surrender and the benefits of resistance to the enemies and why some insist that they should surrender to the enemies and said, “The whole world has witnessed that any country that has made obeisance and surrendered to the Americans has also not reached its own minimum demands.”
The representative of the people of Damghan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated that in the past, Iran was under American domination and added, “Only northern Tehran and some of the large cities had small facilities but 60,000 villages across the country lacked the minimum facilities and people always looked at villagers in a humiliating manner. For this reason, over 30,000 villages were abandoned but after the victory of the Islamic Revolution more than 10,000 villagers returned.”
He added, “Today, the villagers have water, electricity, gas and roads and other facilities, they have 119 million tons of agricultural production and are self-sufficient while they had a maximum of 21 to 25 million tonnes before the Islamic Revolution.”
Arguing that we have seen that our youth and scholars have made great progress in technology in various sectors, Mr. Hasanbeygi stated, “Despite the many advances made, some of the supporters and servants of the Americans inside the country, have been working to disregard these successes through the media and the internet.”
Expressing that the Americans have destroyed every corner of the world that they have set foot in and added, “The most prominent examples are Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya. Under Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi, destroyed Libya’s defence capabilities through negotiations and provided all means and facilities to the Americans, after which Libya witnessed the hardest bombardments and military strikes and today, it has been divided into six to seven tribal nations and the Americans and Italians have taken double the amount of oil as during the time of al-Qadhafi.”
The member of the National Security Commission of the National Assembly added, “Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is at the level of several large international countries in the field of defence and missile defence, such that the militaries of France and the United Kingdom admit that Iran has achieved self-sufficiency and undisputed power.”
Mr. Hasanbeygi stated that, thanks to the Islamic Republic of Iran, resistance was established against the arrogant powers in the region and said, “Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Zionist regime shouted the slogan ‘From the Nile to the Euphrates.’ At the beginning of Saddam’s invasion of Iran, even the motto of ‘From the Nile to Shiraz’ was announced but after Iran’s victory in the Imposed War [Iran-Iraq War] and Saddam’s retreat, today we see that Israel has surrounded itself with 4 to 6 metre-high walls because it sees the resistance and perseverance of other nations that have taken Iran as a model.”
Referring to the Supreme Leader’s statement to the enemies “if they strike us just once, we will strike them back ten fold,” he said, “Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran has reached strength and the United States doesn’t dare to attack it.”
He added, “If today Russia, China or Pakistan are interested in concluding a security treaty with Iran, it’s because our country has great military and military power. Although, the enemies are trying to conceal this fact in the media and online.”
Mr. Hasanbeygi continued, “When Iran adopted United Nations Security Council Resolution 598 in 1987 [which called for an immediate ceasefire between Iran and Iraq, the repatriation of prisoners of war, and for both sides to withdraw to the international border], the Americans, together with the former Soviet Union, deployed 65 army divisions in Iraq to prepare to attack Iran, but with the miracle of national solidarity in our country, 40% of Iraq’s armoured fighting vehicles failed. At the same time, some treacherous mercenaries in the Islamic Consultative Assembly shouted slogans in favour of the enemies and then received wages from the United Kingdom and the United States. At the same time, the late Imam Khomeyni said that everyone who has weakened the country through his lectures, speeches and writings, his actions are forbidden and are a betrayal to the Iranian nation.”
Referring to some of the mercenaries in our country, he said, “Today, some see treason as pleasing to themselves, such that they would be expelled if they didn’t perform their military service for Trump.”
In conclusion, he added, “The Americans know that today, in addition to Iran’s military power, countries like Yemen, Lebanon and Syria have missiles with a 2,500 kilometre range. This demonstrates the power of the Islamic Resistance in the international arena.”
