RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Beirut suburb of Dahieh, Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Da’moush, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, referred to the recent developments in Syria, and said, “The American-Israeli plan was defeated by the resistance of the Syrian people and the achievements of the Islamic Resistance Axis.”

The Lebanese Shi’ah scholar pointed out that the victories of the Syrian army and the advances in the south are a great achievement for the nation, government, army and allies of Syria and a major defeat for the United States, Israel and their allies.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush added that Israel is the first defeated government in southern Syria that has admitted its inability to support the Takfiri terrorists in the region and to assist them in serving Israel.

The Syrian army and its allies have managed to return the south to government control.

His Eminence said Israel has repeatedly tried to abolish the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement between Israel and Syria through its armed terrorists and its regional and international allies and to change the reality of the region by arming and helping the terrorists achieve domination over the border areas.

He noted, “Despite the military, material and spiritual, and even humanitarian support, Israel and the countries that sponsored terrorism were defeated in a war against the legitimate government of Syria.”

Referring to Israel’s anxiety about the success of the Islamic Resistance, Hujjat al-Islam al-Da’moush said, “[The Prime Minister of Israel] Benjamin Netanyahu demanded a commitment to an end to the conflict between Israel and Syria, which implies their defeat and surrender against the will of the Syrian people.”

Thousands of displaced Syrians are returning home after the government reached a ceasefire deal with militants in the southwestern province of Dara’a.

The deal was reached on Friday between the Syrian government and militants in Dara’a, under which Damascus will retake control of the remaining cities and towns of the province from the anti-government forces.
