Rasa - Ahmed Abu Houli, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), stated on Tuesday that the issues of Palestinian refugees and their right of return, as well as Jerusalem, payments allocated to the families of Palestinian prisoners in Israel, the prisoners and the work of the United Nations Refugee and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) are non-negotiable and basic Palestinian rights.
RNA - Abu Houli, also in charge of the refugees affairs department in the PLO, said the Palestinian leadership pays great attention to the financial crisis of UNRWA because of the political implications its demise would have on the issue of refugees, WAFA reported.
He stressed that the Palestinian right of return is a red line that we will not allow any party to bypass, circumvent or remove from any future negotiations.
The official added that efforts are underway with the countries hosting Palestinian refugees, UNRWA and donor countries in order to overcome of agency's financial crisis, urging donor countries and the United Nations to raise their contributions to fill the budget deficit of UNRWA.
