RNA - Mahmoud Halabi, an attorney representing PPS, said that Israel issued such orders against first time detainees and former prisoners, WAFA reported.

He added that among the detainees were lawmaker Khalida Jarrar, whose administrative detention was extended for four months, and Osama Shahin, a journalist, who has been imprisoned since May 31.

Jarrar’s detention has been renewed by Israel for the third time on Friday, just two weeks before she was due to be released from military prison.

She was detained by Israeli forces after raiding her family home in the central West Bank city of Ramallah on July 2, 2017 only a year after her release from a prior prison term.

Israel’s widely condemned policy of administrative detention allows detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals, usually ranging between three and six months, based on undisclosed evidence that even the detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

Rights groups say that Israel's administrative detention policy has been used as an attempt to disrupt Palestinian political processes, notably targeting Palestinian politicians, activists, and journalists.
