Syria in Last 24 Hours:
Rasa - The strongholds of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) came under heavy fire of the Syrian Army's artillery and missile units in the Western countryside of Aleppo city on Saturday, and the terrorists sustained major losses.
Syria

RNA - The terrorist groups, deployed in al-Lairamoun region in the Northwestern countryside of Aleppo city, targeted residential areas in al-Nile Street.

 

The artillery and missile units responded to the terrorists' mortar attack.

 

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

 

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in provinces across Syria.

 

Aleppo

 

The Syrian Army's artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at the strongholds of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at in the Western countryside of Aleppo city on Saturday, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

 

The terrorist groups, deployed in al-Lairamoun region in the Northwestern countryside of Aleppo city, targeted residential areas in al-Nile Street.

 

The artillery and missile units responded to the terrorists' mortar attack and pounded Tahrir al-Sham's positions and movements in al-Lairamoun and Jam'iyat al-Zahra region, destroying one of the positions and a military vehicle and killing several terrorists on board.

 

The artillery and missile units further targeted terrorists' centers in the village of Tadil, al-Mansoureh settlement and near al-Mohandeseen2 region, killing more terrorists.

 

In the meantime, other units of the army clashed fiercely with terrorists near the town of Zamar in Southern Aleppo.

 

Sweida

 

The Syrian Army troops kicked off a large-scale operation to hunt the remaining pockets of ISIL in Sweida Desert in Southern Syria on Saturday and managed to advance against the terrorists in three flanks.

 

The army forces, backed up by the artillery units and Air Force, engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in Northeastern Sweida, seizing control over al-Mosheirefeh School and Rahbat al-Mosheirefeh area near Khirbet al-Ambashi region.

 

Also, the army men drove ISIL out of the village of al-Ashrafiyeh and Ba'ar al-Oureh region in Northeastern Sweida.

 

In the meantime, field sources reported that the army soldiers stormed ISIL's position in three flanks in a desert-like region in Northeastern Sweida, adding that the army forces managed to reach Souh al-Majidi region after advancing towards Khirbet al-Ambashi from Tal Asfar flank.

 

They added that the army men, operating in the second flank, managed to advance as deep as 7km from Qasra al-Saqiyeh toward Khirbet al-Ambashi in the East.

 

In the third flank, they went on to say, the government forces managed to advance against ISIL 10km from al-Zalaf towards Taloul al-Safa in North.

 

Dara'a

 

People in the Southern province of Dara'a called for the implementation of the reconciliation plan and expulsion of terrorists from the region, a Russian media outlet reported on Saturday, adding that the terrorists have already assassinated over 20 members of the Peace Committees to damage peace talks.

 

According to Fars News Agancy, the Arabic-language website of Sputnik reported that the terrorists have carried out a number of assassinations against the members of the Peace Committees and their family members and even local officials and family members of the Syrian army soldiers to prevent implementation of the reconciliation plan in Southern Syria.

 

A sum of 21 officials and renowned figures operating in Peace Committees, including Mayor of the small town of Abedin Naji Mustafa al-Mustafa and Mayor of al-Qariyeh al-Qabi Abdurrahman al-Shalibani, have been assassinated since the start of de-escalation zone plan in Dara'a province since December 2017.

 

Raqqa

 

Tens of members of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stopped cooperation with the militia group after growing tension between the SDF and civilians in Raqqa city on Saturday.

 

Over 30 SDF militias defected from the Washington-backed SDF in Raqqa city after their commander ordered them to storm protesting civilians in the city.

 

In the meantime, a sum of 300 Arab members of the SDF that had been dispatched to Raqqa from their positions in Northeastern Syria rejected obeying their commanders' orders to crack down on popular uprising in region and withdrew from their new positions in the city.

 

Local sources said that yet the SDF continued their crackdown on protesters in Raqqa, adding that the SDF has set up over 15 checkpoints in residential areas in the city and its militias have been patrolling regularly across the city.
