RNA - Bilal Tamimi, anti-settlement and anti-wall activist, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers opened fire at the youth, seriously injuring him.

He added that the soldiers prevented Palestinian medical teams from getting to the youth to help him before he was taken away by the army.

The Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli army later informed the Palestinian side that the youth has died. It announced that the Palestinian youth who was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers earlier on Wednesday was identified as 21 years old Izzeddin Tamimi.

The Israeli Army said a group of youths threw rocks at soldiers in the village. A soldier, who was hit by rock in the head, opened fire at the youth who threw the rock hitting him.

The army later declared Tamimi dead and returned his body to the Palestinian side for burial later in the day at his village.

Palestinians said Tamimi was shot from a close range by three bullets, one of them hit him in the neck. When Palestinian medics attempted to help him, the army prevented them and then took Tamimi away.

Reports said Tamimi was wanted by the Israeli army for a year.
