Thousands attend funeral of Palestinian nurse shot dead in anti-Israel rally

Thousands of people have attended the funeral in Gaza for Palestinian nurse Razan al-Najar who was killed during protests near the border between the besieged Gaza Strip and Israeli-occupied territories.

Health officials and witnesses said Israeli forces shot dead the 21-year-old volunteer medic, as she ran toward the border fence, east of the south Gaza city of Khan Younis, in a bid to reach a Palestinian in need of help.

Najar's death brought to 119  the number of Palestinians killed in weekly demonstrations launched on March 30 in the Gaza Strip.
