RNA - A Syrian-Russian reconciliation delegation was forwarded to Dara'a province to offer the militants to lay down their arms and join the peace agreement with the Syrian Army, military sources in Damascus reported on Wednesday.

 

Dara'a

 

Sources said that a Russian-Syrian reconciliation delegation was sent to the towns of Nahij and Mohaja to call on the militants to end battle with the army and endorse the peace agreement.

 

The sources further said that if the militants reject the peace offer the army will launch military operation against them.

 

Also, the sources said that the army has sent a long convoy of military equipment and thousands of fresh forces to Azra base in Dara'a.

 

The sources said that the army plans to reopen the strategic Nasib Passageway at the border with Jordan as its first priority of operation in Dara'a, adding that the passageway was occupied by the terrorists four years ago.

 

Deir Ezzur, Homs

 

The Syrian Army troops engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in a desert-like region between Western Deir Ezzur and Eastern Homs and fended off terrorists' heavy offensive, killing or wounding a large number of the gunmen on Wednesday.

 

The army men exchanged fire with ISIL after the terrorists tired to break through the government forces' positions in Badiyeh (desert) near the town of al-Mayadeen and another Badiyeh near the villages in the Northern countryside of the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur near the border with Iraq, and managed to repel the terrorists' heavy offensives.

 

Terrorists suffered tens of casualties in the failed attacks.

 

In the meantime, other units of the army clashed with the ISIL near an army positions near Oweiraz Dam Southeast of T3 Station in Southeastern Badiyeh of Homs, repelling the terrorists' attack after killing and injuring a large number of them.

 

The ISIL further retreated from the battlefield to evade more losses.  

 

Hama

 

The Syrian Army's artillery and missile units launched a heavy shelling attack on the positions of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in Northern Hama on Wednesday, damaging their strongholds and inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

 

The artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at Tahrir al-Sham's positions near the village of al-Zakah and the town of al-Latamina, destroying several heavy vehicles and killing or wounding a number of terrorists.

 

Other artillery and missile units pounded more strongholds of the terrorists in Kafr Zita region in Northern Hama, destroying a position and a volume of military equipment and killing several gunmen.

 

In the meantime, a unit of the army opened fire at a group of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at in the village of al-Ankawi in Western al-Ghaab Plain and managed to repel their attack.

 

A number of Tahrir al-Sham's fighters were killed or wounded and the remaining pockets of them retreated towards Southwestern Idlib.

 

Also in the past 24 hours, the Turkish Army dispatched a new large convoy of military equipment to terrorist-held regions in Southeastern Idlib and Northern Hama to reinvigorate its forces in the war-hit country.

 

A long convoy of the Turkish military, including forty vehicles and heavy equipment, entered Northwestern Syria via Kafr Lusin passageway, heading toward three points in Morek, Sarman an Jabal Shahshabu regions.

 

In the meantime, the Arabic-language al-Watan daily pointed to widening insecurity in militant-held regions in Idlib province, adding that the regions where the Turkish troops have deployed to set up truce-monitoring points are experiencing a deteriorating security situation, mainly in Northern Lattakia and Southern Idlib.   

 

Idlib

 

Russia, Iran and Turkey have completed the establishment of observation points in the Idlib de-escalation zone, Head of the Main Operations Department at Russia’s General Staff Colonel General Sergei Rudskoi said on Wednesday.

 

"The establishment of observation points along the disengagement line has been completed," Colonel General Sergei Rudskoi said, adding that military servicemen from the guarantor countries of the Astana agreements - Russia, Iran and Turkey - had been deployed there, TASS reported.

 

"Russia set up a total of ten observation points, another twelve were established by Turkey and seven by Iran. These observation points are being used to monitor the ceasefire between government troops and armed opposition units," Rudskoi added.

 

Also on Wednesday, a fresh round of insecurity has covered Idlib province as assassination operations against militant commanders are on rise, field sources reported.

 

The sources said that a number of Faylaq al-Sham militants were killed or wounded after unknown raiders opened fire at a group of militants at several checkpoints near the village of Tal Adah.

 

According to Fars News Agancy, they added that two bombs went off in front of Idlib Free Police's base in Tamanin settlement in Northern Idlib, killing a number of terrorists.

 

In the meantime, a bomb went off at the entrance of the town of Ma'arat Mesrin in Northern Idlib, but, there is no report on the possible casualties, the sources said.

 

Sources in Idlib city said that Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at has embarked on vast arrest across the city, storming civilians' houses under the pretext of arresting ISIL-affiliated people behind recent blasts.

 

Aleppo

 

Mahmoud Othman, one of the commanders of the Turkey-backed al-Ra'ei Police, was killed in a fresh round of clashes among the Ankara-backed militants in al-Bab region in Northern Aleppo on Wednesday.

 

Gunmen of al-Montaser Bellah Brigade, affiliated to the Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA), engaged in heavy fighting with members of the Turkey-backed Free Police in the main bazaar in the town of al-Ra'ei in al-Bab region in Northern Aleppo, leaving Mahmoud Othman dead and eight more militants injured.

 

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian Army  dispatched more troops and equipment to the Northwestern countryside of Aleppo city, preparing for an imminent anti-terrorism operation in the region, field sources reported.

 

The sources said that the army has send a large number of soldiers and a large volume of military hardware from Lattakia to Kafr Hamra and al-Lairamoun regions in the Northwestern countryside of Aleppo city to take part in a possible operation against terrorists.

 

They went on to say that the terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at have recently increased their attacks on army positions and residential areas in the region.
