RNA - "It seems that Saudi Arabia does not favor development, stability and security of the region and the newly-empowered teenagers (in Saudi Arabia) possibly think that their survival depends on chaos, instability and insecurity in the region and unfortunately, we are witnessing the Saudi government's wrong meddling in certain regional issues, specially in the crisis in Yemen," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi told reporters in Tehran on Monday.
He also lashed out at the US and other western states for selling weapons and military equipment to Saudi Arabia which are used against the Yemeni people, and hoped that the aggression would immediately come to an end with the help of the UN and the international community.
Qassemi, meantime, underscored Iran's preparedness to help efforts to resolve the problems and crisis in Yemen.
According to Fars News Agancy, Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war in March 2015 in support of Yemen’s former Riyadh-friendly government and against the Ansarullah movement, which is currently running state affairs.
The military campaign has killed and injured over 600,000 civilians, according to the latest figures released by the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights.
Several Western countries, the US and the UK in particular, are accused of being complicit in the aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment.
