RNA - "Ending crisis in Yemen is one of the regional policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Jaberi Ansari said on Friday.

The senior aide reiterated that the Yemeni crisis has taken up terrible humanitarian dimensions, and said, "As we witness a widespread human catastrophe and the silent death of a nation is taking place in Yemen."

Jaberi Ansari, meantime, pointed to his recent talks with Secretary General of the European Union diplomatic service Helga Schmid, and said, "Our meeting was mainly centered on developments in Yemen."

He said that the main goal behind the talks between Iran and four European states was to explore avenues to end Yemen crisis and find a way out of the situation in the impoverished states, adding, "Iran is endeavoring to bring the crisis in Yemen to an end."

According to Fars News Agancy, Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war in March 2015 in support of Yemen’s former Riyadh-friendly government and against the Ansarullah movement, which is currently running state affairs.

The military campaign has killed and injured over 600,000 civilians, according to the latest figures released by the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights.

Several Western countries, the US and the UK in particular, are accused of being complicit in the aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment.
