RNA - The authorities demolished Imam al-Askari mosque in roundabout 22 in Hamad town, the only mosque in the region. Residents have rebuilt the mosque and continued holding prayers and rituals in it, Bahrain Mirror reported.

Bulldozers and demolition machines destroyed the mosque without a prior notice. Military vehicle affiliated to the Interior Ministry accompanied the bulldozers. The mosque lies parallel to the main street.

An individual concerned in the file of the 38 mosques demolished by the authorities in 2011 said that the residents built the mosque temporarily and supplied it with a generator from their own money.
