RNA - "Undoubtedly, what is happening in Yemen is a big historic catastrophe and unfortunately the will of superpowers have barred the halt to war," Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Head of the Red Cross delegation in Yemen Alexander Faite.

The senior advisor underlined that the Iranian government and Parliament strongly condemn Saudi aggression in Yemen, and said, "Yemeni crisis has no military solution."

Faite, for his part, said that Red Cross is eager to have effective dialogue with Iran and other countries to deliver humanitarian aids to Yemen and bolster political process to resolve the crisis in the impoverished Arab country.

According to Fars News Agancy, Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war in March 2015 in support of Yemen’s former Riyadh-friendly government and against the Ansarullah movement, which is currently running state affairs.

The military campaign has killed and injured over 600,000 civilians, according to the latest figures released by the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights.

Several Western countries, the US and the UK in particular, are accused of being complicit in the aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment.
