RNA - A Bahraini court issued jail terms against 24 political prisoners on the charge of joining a terrorist group and using explosives to destroy public property.
The court sentenced 10 prisoners to life imprisonment, 10 dissidents to 10 years in jail, three to 5 years and one to three years in prison.
The Manama regime also revoked the nationality of the 24 Bahraini citizens, the local reports said.
Bahrain, a close ally of the US in the Persian Gulf region, has been witnessing almost daily protests against the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty since early 2011, with Manama using heavy-handed measures in an attempt to crush the demonstrations.
According to Tasnim News Agancy, scores of Bahrainis have been killed and hundreds of others injured and arrested in the ongoing crackdown on the peaceful demonstrations.
Many international rights organizations have frequently censured the Bahraini regime for the rampant human rights abuses against opposition groups and anti-regime protesters.
