The Syrian forces have found containers with chlorine and smoke bombs, produced in Germany and the UK, according to the Spokeswoman.
"It's even hard to comment on this fact; it's so horrifying that it undermines faith in the humanism of particular countries. We're not talking about the entire countries, but about certain politicians and officials, who give such orders," Zakharova noted.
Last week, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom launched strikes on a number of targets in Syria in response to the alleged chemical attack in Douma.
The launches came the same day that the OPCW mission was set to start the probe into the alleged chemical weapons use in Douma, which the West had immediately blamed on Damascus.
The three countries fired over 100 cruise and air-to-surface missiles, most of which were shot down by Syrian air defenses, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Saturday that the strikes had been carried out in violation of the norms and principles of international law.
