RNA - "The United States will propose a new vision for ending the conflict with Israel. There is an Arab intention to influence this plan," Aboul-Gheit told reporters after the 149th ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers in Cairo, WAFA reported.
“Telling the Arab positions and plans may harm the whole situation,” he stated, adding that “we want our influence help make this US plan in our favor.”
The Arab League chief stressed that the foreign ministers reiterate their rejection of US decisions on Jerusalem.
"We also reiterated the importance to stick to the Arab peace initiative and the United Nations resolutions, specially the recent UN Security Council resolution that backed the two-state solution," he said.
Aboul-Gheit added that the ministers listened to a briefing by the head of the Arab delegation which met with European Union foreign ministers in Brussels to discuss the Palestinian cause.
The meeting highly praised the European stance which believes that the two-state solution is the only realistic way to end the conflict, he said.
