RNA - "In addition to the ISIL, measures of 30 terrorist groups have been foiled by the Iranian security forces in the past few years," the deputy intelligence minister for anti-terrorism operations said in the Southern province of Fars on Sunday.

"Over 30 armed terrorist groups have had on agenda actions to foment insecurity in the country and distort people's tranquility in the past few years," he added.

The deputy minister also underlined that although the ISIL's rule over certain regional states has ended, more vigilance is needed to confront the terrorists and their supporters' new plots.

According to Fars News Agancy, in relevant remarks last month, Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Public Relations Department and IRGC Spokesman General Ramezan Sharif underlined that the Iranian forces monitor all ISIL moves in the region, preventing the terrorist group's deployment in areas near the country's borders.

"The IRGC has monitored the ISIL terrorist group's strategies and geographical presence and this monitoring continues," General Sharif said.

He stressed the IRGC's good intelligence superiority over the ISIL, and said, "Like the past 6 years, the IRGC has been able to defeat the ISIL and its creators by playing an advisory role in Iraq and Syria."

"No doubt the IRGC will prevent formation of the ISIL again at regions around the Iranian borders," General Sharif said.
