RNA - "The parliament's decision stresses the nation's right of resistance against the foreign forces. The US administration pays attention to this statement and attempts to keep its forces in Iraq" through some schemes, Hezbollah battalions said in a statement on Sunday.

"The US creates new terrorist grouplets to justify continued deployment of its forces in Iraq," he added elaborating on Washington's possible plans for future.

According to Fars Nesw Agancy, the Iraqi parliament demanded that its government set a deadline for the withdrawal of foreign troops.

There are believed to be more than 5,000 US soldiers stationed in Iraq under the so-called goal of fighting against the ISIL. American troops make up the largest foreign presence. The US has been reluctant to significantly reduce those numbers. This is while Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over the ISIL in December.

The parliament voted to set a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign forces.
