RNA - The US move "was a major disaster for the international laws and the world community rules, including the UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 271 which stressed the illegality of any change in the situation of the Quds city", General Shah Safi said, addressing a meeting with the foreign countries' military attaches in Tehran on Sunday night.
"Although the US believes that its measures in this regional turmoil will not face a serious reaction, the rulers in Washington should wait for an Intifada more extensive than the first and second Intifadas, as extensive as the entire Muslim world," he added.
General Shah Safi underscored that despite the betrayal of certain regional Arab states which seek to normalize ties with Israel, the issue of Quds acts as a yardstick and the main principle of the Islamic Ummah's honor.
According to Fars News Agancy, in relevant remarks in January, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi underlined that Jerusalem al-Quds will remain the Palestinians' capital forever, warning that Iran would confront any move made to the opposite
"Quds is the unchangeable capital of the Muslim world and Palestine," Araqchi said, addressing a forum in Tehran.
He stressed Iran's permanent support for Beit al-Moqaddas (al-Quds) as Palestine's capital, and said, "We will confront any attempt to change this reality."
Araqchi also condemned US President Donald Trump's declaration of Quds as Israeli capital, adding that the Islamic world and even the international community angrily reacted to this decision.
