RNA - The ISIL terrorists' fresh attack to capture the government forces' positions in Eastern Deir Ezzur was fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Idlib, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in Syria's key provinces.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army troops fended off ISIL's heavy offensive in Eastern Deir Ezzur and inflicted heavy casualties on them on Friday.

The army men fought back ISIL terrorists in the villages of Qaribeh and al-Kashmah South of the town of al-Mayadeen.

Also, the army's artillery and missile units and aircraft pounded ISIL's positions and movements in Qaribeh and al-Kashmah.

A field sources confirmed that over 25 terrorists were killed and their military hardware was damaged in the field attack.

Relevant reports said earlier that the army troops hit ISIL's strongholds in Southeastern Deir Ezzur and imposed control over more regions near the town of Albu Kamal.

The army men stormed ISIL's positions in Albu Kamal's countryside near the border with Iraq and managed to capture the region on the bank of Euphrates River.

A number of ISIL terrorists were killed and their weapons and equipment were destroyed in the clashes.

Idlib

The Syrian Army troops launched a powerful attack on Thursday night that was geared at expanding the security zone around the strategic Abu al-Dhohour Military Airport, which is still within the range of terrorists' shells.

Military sources reported that the Syrian Army is attempting to expel Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at or the Levant Liberation Board) from the outskirts of the important town of Abu al-Dhohour.

In the meantime, the Al-Nusra has maintained presence around the Abu al-Dhohour Airbase, making it difficult for the Syrian Army to begin rebuilding the destroyed facility.

However, once the Syrian Army is able to expel the remaining Al-Nusra terrorists from the region, they will then halt operations at this axis in order to concentrate on more pressing fronts.

Field sources reported on Thursday that the Syrian army dispatched a large number of Special Forces and military equipment to Southeastern Idlib to prevent the ISIL terrorists' possible advance in the region.

They noted that the army stopped operations in the region to reinvigorate security in Abu al-Dhohour airbase, adding that the army soldiers were preparing to open a new front against the terrorists in Eastern Idlib.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops have found a volume of electronic and telecommunication devices manufactured in Europe in a US-run camp of militant groups in Southeastern Homs, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"During the search at the site of the fight with terrorists, the Syrian army forces found modern radio-electronic equipment manufactured in Europe, ammunition for light weapons and ISIL literature," the statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry said, Sputnik reported.

The US established a military base near the town of al-Tanf on the Syria-Iraq border back in April 2017, citing the need to carry out operations against ISIL.

The Syrian Army unit also have found banners and emblems of the oppositional Forces of Martyr Ahmad al-Abdo group, trained by US instructors at the al-Tanf training camp to form 'The New Syrian Army,' the ministry said, adding that thus the US was trying to impede the Syrian peace process by forming a pro-ISIL armed opposition that it would control itself.

"These facts show the involvement of the US in the training and formation of a US-controlled armed opposition created from the defeated pro-ISIL forces," the ministry said.

The ministry noted further, citing refugees who had managed to flee the US-controlled al-Tanf zone that "the militants were planning a breakthrough operation in the nearest future."

"The main aim of the terrorists is to conduct sabotage operations in the provinces of Damascus, Homs and Deir Ezzur to draw the attention of the Syrian army that is conducting an operation against Al-Nusra in the Idlib province," the ministry said.
