RNA - "The Americans, with their illusions, don’t have a correct understanding of the conditions of this region and are responsible for the catastrophes in the region," General Hatami said, addressing the International Conference on Regional Security Order in West Asia in Tehran on Monday.
He said that the US stirs crises in the region to sell its weapons to the reactionary regimes, noting that all regional states have the bitter experience of Washington's acts like Iran's experience in sealing the 2015 nuclear deal with the world powers, which has been met with US defiance and disloyalty.
"The Americans have showed their inability to manage our region," General Hatami said, adding that unrests in the region have resulted from the meddling and intervention of the trans-regional states.
In relevant remarks late in 2016, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani took certain regional countries and their western allies responsible for the current crisis in Syria.
"Certain regional states and world powers are responsible for the current war in Syria. The US and its regional allies have created abundant problems in the region and the regional states should avoid the moves that further the damage," Larijani said in a meeting with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdak in Tehran.
Noting that Syria is on the frontline of resistance against terrorism and Zionism, he said, "Politically, the Syrian government and Mr. Bashar al-Assad's behavior to settle the crisis politically was well assessed."
Larijani also underlined that Iran's policy is focused on fighting against terrorism and establishment of security in the region.
