He, meantime, stressed Iran's efforts to fight terrorism, and said, "We pursue healthy ties and peaceful coexistence with all regional states; and we are the friend of all regional countries except the Zionist regime and the like."
Larijani stressed that Iran is not greedy to occupy other countries' lands, and said those who speak about Tehran's willingness to create a Shiite crescent in the region are mentally retarded to think they are able to create Iranophobia to take money from the regional states.
In relevant remarks in November, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned that Israel has hatched plots to create political tensions in the region, calling on Tehran, Islamabad and Ankara to use capacities to resolve the regional problems.
"The Zionist regime intends to create political crisis in the region and we should talk with the regional states and don’t allow them to become an instrument in the hands of the US and don’t allow their decisions to produce benefit for Israel and the US and therefore, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey's weight should be used to resolve the regional conditions," Larijani said in a meeting with Chairman of Pakistani Senate’s Committee on Defense Mushahid Hussain on the sidelines of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly conference in Istanbul.
"Today, countries like Yemen are suffering from basic problems and therefore, we should help to resolve problems politically because finally all problems in the region will benefit Israel," he added.
Hussain, for his part, underlined that Washington has weakened in the region, and said, "The US repeatedly wants to create problems for the regional states but it fails as Iran is a powerful country and the regional states know that the US cannot adopt an important measure in this regard."
He also urged further strengthening of ties among Iran, Pakistan and Turkey.
