RNA - The ISIL terrorists' attack to capture the government forces' positions in Southwestern Deir Ezzur was fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.
Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Damascus, over the past 24 hours.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in other provinces across Syria.
Deir Ezzur
The Syrian Army troops fended off a large-scale ISIL offensive in Southwestern Deir Ezzur on Saturday, inflicting major losses on the militants.
The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL forces that had attacked the pro-government forces' positions near T2 Oil Pumping Station near the border with Iraq and managed to fend off their attack.
Also, the army's artillery and missile units pounded ISIL's movements and strongholds in the region, killing and wounding a number of them.
In the meantime, the army men clashed with invading ISIL militants in al-Sukriyeh region near the newly-liberated town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, and repelled their attack.
Meantime, the Russian bombers carried out a fresh round of attacks on ISIL's strongholds and movements in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur, inflicting major losses on the terrorists, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.
"On December 1, 2017, six Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on ISIL terrorists’ targets in the province of Deir Ezzur," the ministry said.
The ministry reported that the warplanes, which took off from an airfield in Russia, hit militants’ command posts and manpower.
"All designated targets were hit," the ministry said, adding that unmanned aerial vehicles recorded the results of the bombing.
Su-30SM fighter jets based at the Humeimim airbase in Lattakia province in Western Syria provided backing for the bombers in Syria’s airspace.
Damascus
The Syrian Army troops kept rolling on the positions of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Southwestern Damascus, a field source said, adding that army men also fended off an Al-Nusra offensive in another battlefield on Saturday.
The sources said that the army men stormed the Al-Nusra positions East of Beit Jinn Farm in Southwestern Damascus and advanced towards al-Maqtul hill, imposing control over several positions.
In the meantime, the army's artillery and missile units pounded the Al-Nusra movements and strongholds in al-Mughur al-Mir, the sources said.
The Al-Nusra attack on pro-government forces' positions in Tal (hill) Bardaya was repelled by the army men.
The Al-Nusra suffered a heavy death toll and pulled forces back from the battlefield to evade more casualties.
Aleppo
A senior field commander of Al-Nusra Front was killed along with three of his aides after his vehicle came under fire by the Syrian Army in Western Aleppo, local sources confirmed on Saturday.
The sources said that the Syrian Army's missile units targeted a vehicle of Al-Nusra terrorists in the town of Kafr Hamra in Western Aleppo, killing a notorious field commander of the terrorist group and three of his aides.
Dissident-affiliated websites reported that the Syrian Army troops stormed the positions of Al-Nusra Front in Southeastern Aleppo, killing a number of terrorists, including a notorious commander.
The websites said that Abu Ameneh, a notorious commander of Al-Nusra, was killed along with a number of his forces in clashes with the army men in Southeastern Aleppo.
